Trial pilot launching February 2026: we want to work with a small number of families (** at a permanently discounted rate! **) in return for feedback. We have lots of new ideas but our aim is to build a core service around your needs.Limited spaces: If you need help to cope and your parent isn't in full-time care, we would like to work with you both. Email/text us now - just tell us a little about your situation and let us know a good time to call back.

I’m Richard, founder of BetweenVisits. This service was inspired by my own experience when my late mother-in-law lived with us for three years. Despite excellent care workers, she remained lonely, anxious, and we were overwhelmed by day-to-day demands. Dealing with this alongside work and family life was a constant struggle.A few years later, working on a strategy project for Age UK, I was amazed to learn how widespread this problem is. In the UK, around 4 million1 adults are caring for ageing parents - and many are doing it in the margins of already full lives, leaving them overwhelmed much of the time.BetweenVisits can support you by providing scheduled daily telephone chats and help the family deal with practical tasks like booking appointments, chasing up, online shopping, and coordinating household or therapeutic services. You stay in control, with clear written updates and approvals. With 22 years building customer-data solutions in highly regulated sectors like financial services and telecoms, I’ve designed BetweenVisits with privacy and safety at its core. Our Companion Assistants are security-checked and Level 2 safeguarding trained, and are selected for their warmth, patience and experience in supporting older people, including those living with dementia. We aim to onboard families within days and can usually accommodate families with an urgent need such as a hospital discharge or upcoming travel.
